In Elche, during his first intervention as president of the CRUPV, the UMH rector highlighted a list with the 10 most relevant actions that the Valencian rectors must undertake during 2015.

1) Open negotiations on short-term debt from the Generalitat and recover the levels, in ordinary subsidy, from 2010 (820 million euros).

2) Implementation of the new Financing Commission (for updating and revising the Multiannual Financing Plan).

3) Creation of the Historic Debt Monitoring Committee, in accordance with the documents signed on December 30, 2014.

4) Promote the Campus of Excellence of the five public universities, Habitat 5U: the seal was renewed by the Ministry this year. An agreement for joint use of libraries was signed, Antenna was installed at the Universitat Politècnica de València of the Santander International Entrepreneurship Center (CISE), the Sustainable & Healthy Campus was designed, and the “social and wellness space” network created. Likewise, the rectors consider that RUVID will predictably be incorporated into Habitat 5U.

5) The interuniversity commission for Valencian Public Radio-Television (CIRTPV) will continue its path this year.

6) Creation of the new portal of the Valencian Public Universities, prepared by the Valencian Institute of Economic Research (IVIE). The launch of this portal, based on university indicators, is scheduled for April 2015.

7) Constitution of the negotiating table, on an autonomous level, to formulate the collective labor agreement for contracted university faculty.

8) Future implementation of the professional career path for university staff (PAS), which, in the case of the UMH, like that already having occurred with the Conselleria de Sanidad, is embodied in its resumption.

9) Collaboration with and support by the public universities towards the Higher Institute for Artistic Teaching of the Valencian Community.

10) Nationally. The rectors propose negotiating as a whole, thru CRUE, intellectual property rights with CEDRO. Starting from the publication of the New 3+2 Decree, regarding the structure of undergraduate and master’s programs, the CRUPV, along with private universities, will reach an agreement on their future implementation.

Finally, for informational purposes, the rectors commented on the recognition in the new Health Law of the Generalitat Valenciana (published December 29, 2014) of priority teaching attention for public university students in public hospitals.
