The Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities, of which the Miguel Hernández University of Elche forms part, wishes to express its full support and solidarity for the academic institutions of Ukraine, its university communities, and its population during this horrible time.

Nothing is more contrary to the university spirit than violence. We strongly condemn the attack initiated by Russia and ask for diplomacy to return to its rightful place as a means for resolving a conflict that if not ceased immediately, will produce unimaginable consequences.

Spanish universities will collaborate and cooperate, through their academic networks and institutional relations, in everything possible to redirect a situation that should never have occurred.
