According to the latest report by the IUNE Observatory, which analyzes R&amp;D activity at Spanish universities, the UMH stands out as the Spanish university institution that started the most spin-offs for the last recorded year (2013), with 2.36 companies per 100 faculty. Today, the UMH, through its Scientific Park and Innovation Lab, a business incubator and accelerator, actively maintains 22 companies that were born from the transfer of knowledge of university research.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/comunicacion.umh.es\/files\/2015\/09\/10-09-15-resultados-UMH-creaci\u00f3n-spin-off.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-86131\" src=\"https:\/\/comunicacion.umh.es\/files\/2015\/09\/10-09-15-resultados-UMH-creaci\u00f3n-spin-off-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"10-09-15-resultados UMH creaci\u00f3n spin off\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/comunicacion.umh.es\/files\/2015\/09\/10-09-15-resultados-UMH-creaci\u00f3n-spin-off-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/comunicacion.umh.es\/files\/2015\/09\/10-09-15-resultados-UMH-creaci\u00f3n-spin-off.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In the report by the IUNE Observatory, the UMH also holds the fifth position in the average number of spin-offs launched by public and private universities in Spain between 2006 and 2013. \u201cWe can be very satisfied with these results, because since our beginnings we have managed to kick-start 22 companies born from technologies developed by our research groups,\u201d affirms the Vice Rector for Research and Innovation at the UMH, Manuel Jord\u00e1n. \u201cKeeping these companies within our surroundings provides quality jobs and companies that are socially and environmentally responsible,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Companies promoted by the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University begin their professional activity subsequent to receiving business training at the Innovation Lab, which offers two of its own entrepreneurial support programs: the Marathon for Business Creation, which in November will begin its fifth edition, and the Business Creation Sprint, which will finish its third call this September. Since both programs began, the business incubator and accelerator at the UMH Scientific Park has advised more than 600 entrepreneurs, awarded more than 270,000 euros, and promoted more than 70 businesses, of which the UMH participates in 38.
