Exhibition “Common Spaces”
The Vice Rectorate for Culture and University Extension at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) has organized, in collaboration with the SET Espai d’Art Gallery (València – Xàbia), the exhibition “Common Spaces.” This sampling can be viewed until February 28 in the Universitas Exhibition Room of the Rectorado and Consejo Social Building on the Elche Campus, Monday thru Friday, 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
“Common Spaces” is a dual project by artists Luce and Eltono that presents, from public art, the urgency of addressing notions such as play, communication, and rapprochement between citizens, from the street to the gallery and the gallery to the street. This exhibition is a play on objects, words, and meanings, as well as a witness to time lived and spaces shared. Likewise, it is a record of the work that Luce and Eltono have completed together, far removed from the solitary artist in a studio.
The objects on display were were created from the profound knowledge that these actions imply within the public space. The artists present a series of didactic pieces, in a summarized manner, of three weeks of joint work on a project.
