The Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) is among the top 10 Spanish universities in the subjects of life sciences, health sciences, psychology, physical sciences, and engineering & technology according to the British Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019, which classifies the world’s best universities. This study analyzes the main parameters in teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook in each of these subjects.
Specifically, the UMH is found between positions 401-500 in the Life Sciences classification. This subject examines universities that lead in agriculture & forestry, biological sciences, veterinary science, and sport science. Finally, the UMH also stands out, along with various other Spanish universities, in sixth position in the Physical Sciences ranking, and it is in the seventh position in Engineering & Technology. The former of these rankings classifies universities that lead in mathematics & statistics, physics & astronomy, chemistry and environmental sciences. The latter highlights those that lead in electrical, mechanical, civil, chemical, and general engineering subjects.
