Second Spanish university in Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure in the Times Higher Education rankings

The Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) is the second Spanish university in the context of Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure according to the British Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019, which classifies the world’s best universities. To rank them, this study analyzes the main performance indicators related to social impact and groups them into the areas of teaching, research, industry income, sustainability, and international outlook.

The UMH is among the world’s 200 best universities in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2019, which assesses universities against the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda. Specifically, the Elche institution is 49th in Reduced Inequalities, 50th in Quality Education, 74th in Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and is 86th in Decent Work and Economic Growth on a worldwide level.

On Spanish levels, the UMH is tops within the Valencian Community in the University Impact Rankings 2019, as well as in Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. As for the Quality Education ranking, the UMH is fifth among Spanish universities, and first on a community level.
